If you like hyped in your face sound, IKM is the way to go. Maybe because my way of listening to music ain't over the top fx wise. I don't do a lot of stuff that's over the top - soundwise. I think it's more about what tools have you found that helped you reach that "voice".ĭepending on what you want to achieve, I guess. This isn't really a discussion of one company's quality versus another. We're all looking to recreate that sound we hear in our head, and the tools to get there are as different as those sounds are. When I use those plugins, I'm looking for something that is going to make itself felt because that's the sound I go for. To my ear, the IK Multimedia stuff is more in-your-face, maybe even a bit over-done, but that would describe my sound as well. I think the Waves plugins are great quality, very clean and subtle, and I have read a lot of pros depend on them. Totally agree with you-to each his/her own. Won't look back because for me Waves have not only been working out great, but have re-molded my whole work process.Īs for Compressors/Limiters, I have 24 different in my palette. I couldn't dislike IKM's products more and I really tried in 2013. To each his/her own, but I can only deviate 100% from that.
